GE Aviation Aircraft Engine Simulation Environment
Prior to shipping jet engines to fulfill client orders, the simulation environment at GE Aviation required an electrical rebuild of a test cell. With the rewired test cell, the GE Aviation engineers could fully evaluate the performance of the jet engine prior to fulfilling orders.
Hammond Electric was hired as the electrical contractor to install all of the electrical piping and wiring within the steel test vault to support the requirements of the simulation environment. Critical expertise included installation of safety systems to contain any failures, and installation of motor control centers and exhaust systems. The installation demanded expertise in complex control wiring and data systems, and called for working with hazardous classified jet fueling systems.
